I’m just seeing this video on the end of a news story 2 weeks ago about a cell phone interrupting AND stopping the NY Philharmonic during its climax. So I’m asking myself, is this real? or did Nokia pay for it?

Wheat Thins, the crackers, are helping you to DO THINGS in 2012 as part of their new marketing campaign Do What You Do.

The video you see here is part of their online campaign [Facebook focused] that enlists the help of a creepy/dirt/moustached mouth coach called the “Do-minatrix”. The mouth is meant to help motivate you to do things, starting with typical New Years Resolutions. I’m afraid this execution is neither so-bad-it’s-good or so-good-it’s-good.

A better job imho enlists Brian and Stewey from family guy fighting over the pronunciation of “wheat thins” allowing them to say it 30 times in 30 seconds. Not sure it communicates “Do What You Do” but i’m just gonna continue doing what I was doing.

The Creative Capsule is a mobile unit that can travel around the country and host parties and events for up to 8 people. The cost, at $225 scales up for more guests and additions like photographer, printed invites and balloons.  As a recently launched service, they are primarily focused on children’s events but plan on offering a space for adult meet-ups/parties soon.

The first thing you do when you sit down at the computer

Let me guess: check the incoming. Check email or traffic stats or messages from your boss. Check the tweets you follow or the FB status of friends.

You’ve just surrendered not only a block of time but your freshest, best chance to start something new.

If you’re a tech company or a marketer, your goal is to be the first thing people do when they start their day. If you’re an artist, a leader or someone seeking to make a difference, the first thing you do should be to lay tracks to accomplish your goals, not to hear how others have reacted/responded/insisted to what happened yesterday.

While digital tools have taken the power of the heavily capitalized Few and distributed it to the Many, they have also nearly obliterated anybody’s capacity to reach the Many in one fell swoop. The Industrial Revolution was revolutionary because it created efficiency through scale. The Digital Revolution, by contrast, has decimated scale.

Love this new app ‘Crash Corsage’ that scans local wedding directories and sites to find local celebrations.

Personally, I’m not a crasher but with my first Maid of Honor duty fast approaching I’ll be sure to be checking invites at the door ;)

Best Ad I’ve seen this year.  There’s no sound.  Proof that a great idea doesn’t need to cost millions to make.

Monocle To Start Radio Station

According to this article entitled Mr. Zeitgeist form the NY Times, Monocle’s main man Tyler Brule is starting a radio station called Monocle 24.

We’re not talking podcast, Monocle 24 is an actual radio station on actual radio that can be heard on The Heritage Radio Network, and the special edition heritage radio pictured above. This is a huge step in the opposite direction of other companies, specifically media companies, that are all going digital, iPadish and podcasting online <—- stating the obvious.

Anyway, the article goes onto explain the “world of Monocle” that oozes style and tradition. This is nothing we didn’t already know but I don’t mind hearing again and again…only to make me jealous and look at the coat draped on the back of my chair and crumbs on my desk as I think to myself, “someday…”

Ever wondered where your bag goes after you check it in at the airport? No, me neither.

You’ll be unsurprised to find out it travels across a number of conveyor belts and vehicles. Boring execution from W&K NY, although I see the gem of an idea in there somewhere.

Also - shouldn’t this have been released before the holiday season, aka travel season….?

After discovering this via thedailywhat I was ready to scorn Nike for what initially appeared to be abuse of public space. As a runner and avid park lover I thought this was just some crappy branding, but lo and behold it is a ‘get off your ass and go chase some pigeons’ campaign that I can’t help but love.

Nicely done Nike, even if you did limit the outdoor seating for coffee sippers and newspaper readers. I just hope the seats are back in time for Spring!

Peter did the honor of showing us these award winning Egyptian Panda Cheese commercials that are some of the best international ads I’ve seen in a while….just really funny.
